Smarter Artist Smart Links: Free Courses and Content Marketing

Smarter Artist Writer Resources

How has your week been? I’m still on a creative high from attending the Colonists Summit almost 2 weeks ago! My to do list is long and detailed and some of the links I found for you this week just added to it!

50 free online courses for creatives and entrepreneurs — I wish I had the time to invest in these! SO much great information just waiting to be consumed. Classes on everything from Andy Warhol to negotiation to historical fiction.

Stop asking me about your personal brand and start doing some work — From Gary Vaynerchuk. Wise words and tough love. Basically this is the reason I spent all of 2014 just writing and not doing anything else for my author career. I’ve got to get the work done first.

Content marketing for authors — From our friend Tara Jacobson! She is always full of great examples and resources. If you’re looking for ideas for what to put on your social media channels, definitely check out this article.

From the archives, and in honor of the Self-Publishing Podcast’s third anniversary: Episode ONE! — The event that began it all. The way Johnny elbowed his way in and created a trio instead of a pair.

What are you working on this week?

  1. This looks like a great bunch of links. I’ll have to check them all out.
But first, I’ll have to re-listen to episode 1! That’ll be fun πŸ˜€

  2. The “Stop asking me about your personal brand and start doing some work” link are broken. Proabably missing the http or something.

  3. Until it’s fixed, this link will get you to the Gary V article. Enjoy:

  4. Sabra Kay says:

Thanks for all the great info! Some of those classes look amazing. I’m thinking FBI investigation and Superhero physics are a must!

  5. Dale Szewczyk says:

Amy, you’re ten levels of awesomesauce! I am so going to check out the free college courses. This is my idea of college, selected courses!

  6. Dale Szewczyk says:

Just a head’s up, the second link is broken. I blame gremlins.

  7. These are awesome, thanks Amy!

I still remember Episode One, but I’m looking forward to a relisten. Still, I think Garrett one-upped Johnny’s “elbowing in” when he crowbarred his way in months later (true talent will not be denied). πŸ™‚ I love the evolution of the podcast and the brand. Great stuff.
